INHM Company: Gentleman's Club

I finally managed to finish and photograph my Gentleman's Club company for INHM. I really need to get some suitable scenery and take photos of these little guys after that. The light grey background looks a bit dull.

Minis are mostly from West Wind Productions 'Empire of the Dead' range and the minis for Lord Fraser and Miss Ellisworth are from Ratnik. I sculpted the bases from greenstuff. Drybrushed and then some pigment powders added to create variety in the coloring. Looks OK enough, but might still have to add some vegetations sticking through the gaps. Painted with Vallejo paints and GW washes.

Miss Ellisworth. Always on Lord Fraser's side, she has way of always getting what she wants with only a smile and small hint.

Jim Corbett is the second in command of the group. An avid hunter and a slightly eccentric explorer.

 Johnny "The Kid". Accepted into the club despite his age thanks to sponsoring by Jim Corbett.

Father Gladstone. Former officer of the empire who hasn't quite managed to get himself comfortable with the quiet life of a priest.

 Arthur is the mysterious member of the company with no one really knowing who he is. Always wearing a mask he is allowed to be as there is no one who can best him in a duel if too many questions get asked.

And finally some regular club members. Still two more of these guys left, but I ran out of bases.

US Airborne Platoon

 A platoon of US Airborne from the Flames of War starter box more or less finished. Decided not the paint the regimental batch or the US flag for now, but might come back to those later on when I have the whole army done. Nice minis, though the limits of plastic moulding when casting one-piece minis can be seen quite easily on some of them (for example the Bazooka team). Now waiting for some resin bases to arrive to paint the next couple of platoons and mortars.

 

Waterloo

Couple of weeks ago we had a Waterloo game at the club depicting the fighting on the eastern edge of the battle in the late afternoon. British and Prussian forces pitted against a few Divisions of French.

 The game started with the Prussians and French fighting over Plancenot and the British pushed back out of La Haye Sainte and Papellotte.

 

The French quickly moved out to take control of both La Haye Sainte and Papellotte

 The Battle on Planchenoit is going badly south for the Prussians and the French manage to recapture all of the town quickly.

To avoid a slow grind for Planchenoit the Prussians divert reinforcements north to assist the British in recapturing Papelotte.

Gordon Highlanders start the attack on Papelotte while the rest of the 9th Brigade secures it's flanks

Meanwhile on the western flank Cameron Highlanders assault the French brigade defending the surrounding fields of La Haye Sainte with other battalions of the 8th brigade providing supporting fire.

 The fighting around Papelotte intensifies as both sides pour in more and more troops.

After long fighting the British manage to drive back the French defending both La Haye Sainte and Papelotte. 8th Brigade has especially suffered heavy casualties and mainly concentrates on reinforcing their positions.

 95th Rifles take positions within La Haye Sainte and start murderous fire directed towards the French who are retreating through the muddy fields surrounding the farm.

The Prussian force under Blücher starts to make headway and pushes most of the French out of the area around Papelotte.

French reinforcements try to launch an attack against La Haye Sainte, but too late and they are driven back with muskets as the sun starts to set over the battlefield.

A really nice game with nice special rules and objectives written for both sides by Marko. Thanks for that! The battle ended with a victory for the British-Prussian allience with them controlling most of the battlefield. However Planchenoit stayed in French hands and their army was still far from beaten with one division still more or less battleworthy.

New apartment!

Last few weeks have been quite hectic with us moving to a new apartment so not much time for painting or gaming. But there is an upside! Finally I have a sort of permanent hobby spot so no more moving things out of the way all the time. Enough room for too many half-finished projects and loads of shelf space for all the tools, parts and boxes.

Now that I'm mostly settled after spending the whole summer abroad and moving to a new apartment I can hopefully start pushing out updates a bit faster :)

Also finally got more ink for the printer and got a flag printed out for the tiny prussians. I've got about a brigades worth of them based now waiting for painting and two more brigades cleaned up waiting to get based. Let's see when I get enough motivation or a nice gaming deadline to get the painting line rolling for these guys.
